2011-12 Panini Score Blaster Break

Picked up this blaster box of the latest Score set from Panini for just under $11 earlier today.  Panini has been bringing more and more to the table year after year with their annual low end set.  At 500 cards, the set won't be easy to complete - loaded with a variety of sub-sets and three parallels per card, it gets crazy.  But for a possible big bang at a low price, how can you not like it.

This year Brodeur is the face of the product; entering his final year of his contract - it's very well possible that this will be his final season of his record breaking career.

Anyway let's get to the break and take a look at what I pulled for $11.

Alex Ovechkin #456 - The superstar from the break, not much to say right now about this guy at the moment - Ovechkin.

Steven Stamkos #368 - Stamkos had a hot game last night scoring his 4th career hat-trick.

Jarome Iginla #83 - Another guy on a hot streak so far into this season.

Roberto Luongo #455
Jordan Staal #368

Pekka Rinne #274 - Rinne has been playing stellar for the Preds so far this season but he's a favorite pull of mine because he just so happens to sport one of my favorite masks designs in the league.

Devan Dubnyk #200 - Although Dubnyk hasn't been playing the best of his abilities this year I'm loving the Oilers this season.

Ryan Miller #79

Henrik Zetterberg #172 - You can't tell from the scan but this Zetterberg card is a 'glossy' parallel.  The glossy cards are inserted one per pack.

Jordan Eberle / All Rookie Team #191 - These 'All Rookie Team' short-prints are part of the base set, didn't do too bad with the Eberle and Crawford pulls in my opinion.

Corey Crawford / All Rookie Team #125

Michal Neuvirth / Net Cam #10 - The 'Net Cam' cards are back again this year; Michal Neuvirth meh - but what a beautiful looking insert set to build.

Joe Thornton / Making An Entrance #2 - A newly introduced insert set in the Score series, 'Making An Entrance' - showcasing players in the spotlight heading onto the ice.  Another nice insert to build, wish I had pulled another one of these from the box.

Alex Ovechkin / Stanley Cup Playoffs Highlight / Glossy #488 - This Ovechkin card highlights the Capitals series win over the Rangers during the 2011 playoffs.

Pavel Datsyuk / Stanley Cup Playoffs Highlight #492 - Highlights the Wings sweeping the Coyotes in the first round of the 2011 playoffs.

Logan Couture / Season Highlight #18 - This card highlights Coutures record-breaking moment for most game-winning goals in a rookie season - he had seven.  The previous record holder was Steve Larmer from the 1982-83 season with six.

Daniel Sedin / Stanley Cup Playoffs Highlight #499 - Highlights Sedins game-winning goal in game 5 of the conference finals against San Jose, which reserved their spot in the finals.

Sidney Crosby / Season Highlight #9 - This card celebrates Sid's 25 game scoring streak in which he racked up 49 points.  The longest streak since Mats Sundin's 30-gamer in 1992-93.

Tim Thomas / Season Highlight #30 - Another highlight card, this one takes note of Thomas' record-breaking save percentage in an NHL single-season - .9382.

Ryan Kesler / Season Highlight #29 - Kesler fronts this Season Highlight card where Panini recognizes the Canucks first President's Trophy win.

Radim Vrbata / Season Highlight / Glossy #5 - Recognizes the NHLs venture into Eastern Europe in 2010.

John Tavares / Sudden Death #20 - Sudden Death cards are back; this one is game-dated Jan. 8, 2011 where Tavares would end the game against Colorado in overtime.

Teddy Purcell / Playoff Heroes #8 - Another insert set celebrating the heroes from last seasons playoffs - Purcell broke out and registered three goals during Tampa Bays five game series win in the Eastern Conference finals.

Sidney Crosby / Supreme Team #1 - This insert set is almost like a player collection of the best in the NHL by Panini.  Funny thing, the description the back of the card is exactly the same as the one featured on the 'Season Highlight' card above.

Carl Klingberg / Hot Rookies #536
mark Katic / Hot Rookies #519
Greg Nemisz / Hot Rookies #503

Colton Sceviour / Hot Rookies #508
Jake Gardiner / Hot Rookies #560
Erik Condra / Hot Rookies #524
