Pinnacle, Donruss and Upper Deck Rundown

Picked up a bunch of packs of random cards in an attempt to knock some cards from the want-lists, aside from some base that I needed I also pulled a few inserts - nothing to write home about but enough to scan and post a blog about.
First, lets start with the two packs of 2010-11 Panini Pinnacle - didn't really put a dent into what I have left to complete the set as I only managed to pull two cards that I needed; # 110 Tomas Vanek and #234 Dana Tyrell Ice Breakers.  Although worthy of a scan would be this card:

Martin St. Louis + Steven Stamkos / Chemistry On Canvas #3 - Nice feel to these cards, literally.

24 base cards still left to go before I can close the chapter on this and move on.

Next up we have three packs of 2010-11 Upper Deck Black Diamond; not collecting towards a set but they were hanging out on a shelve and the cards are nice eye candy.

Out of the three packs I did pull two cards that were more than a lone diamond:

Pavel Datsyuk / Triple Diamond #138 - No quad diamonds in this lot as I expected but for just $1.50 a pack I'll take the Datsyuk triple with a smile.

Teemu Selanne / Double Diamond #119 - A new Selanne card is always welcomed.  Going to miss this guy next year.

Next in line are the two 40 card fat packs of 2010-11 Panini Donruss, another set that I'm well on the way of completing.  Out of the 40 cards I pulled 11 cards (#97 Mark Recchi #76 Ilya Brygalov #33 Rene Bourque #124 Niclas Bergfors #171 Jeff Carter #128 Tomas Holmstrom #187 Valtteri Filppula #133 Niklas Backstrom #178 Ryan Smyth #68 Ryan Miller #26 Jonathan Toews) that I needed and 3 inserts.  Which in turn puts me at 32 cards remaining until I can say the end.

Figured I would post scans of the inserts that came in the fat packs:

Jimmy Howard / The Ultimate Draft #23

Tomas Vanek / The Ultimate Draft #4 - Lately it seems like I have a knack for pulling Tomas Vanek inserts...

Jean Beliveau / Ice Kings #14 - Nice card from the Ice Kings Set; the cardboard has the same sort of texture as the Chemistry On Canvas card I showed earlier.  Favorite card from the Donruss break for sure.

I also picked up two fat packs of 2009-10 Upper Deck Series 1 on the cheap; I'm also aiming to complete the set for this as well but I still have a ways to go - after the break I'm still 79 cards away from being able to put a steak in it.  Nothing scan worthy came out of it; inserts as followed:

Teemu Laakso / Young Guns #238
Jason Blake / Ambassadors Of The Game #AG2
Luc Robitaille / Ambassadors Of The Game #AG19
Jonathan Quick / Netminders #NET11
Kari Lehtonen / Netminders #NET10

All the inserts (aside from the Young Guns card) came 1:1 Heh

  1. That Ice Kings Beliveau is one sweet looking card.
