2011-12 Panini Titanium Hobby Box Break

Well I went out and brought home my first hobby box of product yesterday morning - I can't believe it, not because of the fact that I actually did it but because it was my first hobby box purchase since I picked up collecting again.  I think that it's been long overdue.

I decided to try my luck on a box of 2011-12 Panini Titanium.  Great looking set with a solid mixture of hits to pull.

I pulled 13 base from the 5 packs; the complete set comes in at 100 cards.  The design is clean but wouldn't win any awards; makes for a nice looking collated set though.

Teemu Selanne #13   Patrice Bergeron #86  Ryan Miller #15  Ray Emery #29
My favorite card from the above would have to be Selanne.  Good to hear he has decided to keep playing for another year.

Ryan O'Reilly #55  Nicklas Lidstrom # 42 Pekka Rinne #97  Derek Stepan #72
Rinne wins this base bout.

James Neal #83  Kris Letang #57  Logan Couture #40  Martin St. Louis #99  Daniel Sedin #44
St. Louis just because.
Gabriel Bourque Rookie #127 /57
Gabriel Bourque rookie, these fall one per 16 box case.  Each numbered out of according to their jersey number making it possible to put together just 1 complete set of these rookie cards.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere Spectrum Ruby #92 /99
Parallel card of J-S Giguere /99.

Teemu Selanne Game Worn Gear #9  Jason Spezza Game Worn Gear #73
Selanne and Spezza single colored watches, the consolation prize to these 1:1 hit packs.  There's 100 cards in his set as well.  A couple of good names and at least they're not white.
Nazem Kadri Draft Day Autographs #24 /99
A Kadri auto, been a fan of his since watching him play for Canada at the WJC.  Many people don't like the base as the Draft day photos take them away from the game.  Personally I like it as long as the market doesn't get littered with Draft Day photos. There are plenty of in action shot photography, I think Draft day photos captures a moment in time on carboard and stands out when looking through a card collection yeas later.

Chris Pronger / Scott Hartnell / James Van Riesdyk Hat Tricks #17  /199
3 colors from three great guys.

Milan Michalek Game Worn Gear Patch # /25
Patch card from Michalek, 2 colors.  Okay.

And there we have it, the entire contents of the box aside from a massive decoy card!  Overall I was happy with my box.  Pulling the Bourque rookie was probably the highlight.

Going to keep the Selanne Game Worn and Kadri auto around.  All the others are up for trade.

  1. Nice break, hopefully now that you have that first break underneath your belt you won't become too much of a box breaking addict.Titanium is a pretty solid product but you just don't see many "WOW" type cards in many of the breaks.

  2. Cool stuff! I like the Selanne cards as well, and I agree with you on the Kadri Draft Day auto card. Great post!

  3. I like the idea of draft day photos, especially if they go way in the past. It would be cool to see some veterans in their 18-year-old draft day garb, especially with a different team (i.e. full-on-hockey-mullet Jaromir Jagr w/The Pens)
