Cards From Cardboarded

I've been neglecting the blog; just haven't been picking up much hockey stuff recently.  The TTM bug has bitten me again so I've been steady motivated to pen out as many letters as my right hand can handle.  And my other collecting hobbies have weaved in and out of my life lately.

I received my end of a trade with Paul over at Cardboarded earlier last week; I sent a few Jimmy Howard cards his way and in return he sent me a few Paul Kariya cards that he had kicking around.

He also helped me out in the delivery process of a Ryane Clowe card that I wanted but could only be shipped within the United States.  But I'll get to those goods in a later post.

My secondary player collection of Paul Kariya has been coming along fairly nicely - for a collection who I decided to put on the back burner several weeks ago I've still been picking up number 9 from time-to-time; I would estimate that I'm now nearing 300 Paul Kariya cards at the moment.

Here's a Kariya game-used jersey piece from a decade ago; it would be considered two colors since there's a smiggion of dark fabric towards the right corner of the swatch.

Mail Day! Trade With Shoeboxlegends

My wisdom teeth extraction is in t-minus 6 hours and I figured that I should finally post this trade I made with Shoeboxlegends almost five months ago, if however I should bleed to death in the dentist chair and never get the opportunity.  Also since the fact that I got around to gathering up my finds to send in return to Shoebox, I figured better late than never to show some collector courtesy.

Shoebox sent me some very nice cards to help complete a couple 2011-12 and 2010-11 sets that I had been working on as well as a few other cards that he figured I would enjoy.

Teemu Selanne 1993-94 Leaf Hat Trick Artists #3 - Love the hat trick insert set idea and the full-bleed photos featured on the cards.  Here`s Selanne in a Jets uniform streaking up the ice; he would light the lamp thrice in a game a total of five times during the 1992-93 season.

Through The Mail Trade: The Cardboard and Me

Happy Halloween everyone; it's snowing in some parts of Newfoundland today apparently but at the moment here in St. John's it looks more like a torrential downpour.  The longer the weather gods decide to put off a snowstorm the better in my opinion.

A big thank you to Barrett over at The Cardboard and Me for the cards as part of a trade that we made about a month ago.  I received the package today in good standing and it surely took a chunk out of a couple of my sets that I've been recently collecting.
#22 Vincent Lecavalier   #36 Patrick Marleau   #65 Daniel Alfredsson

Barrett sent 22 2010-11 Pinnacle cards my way - all of which I needed towards putting this set together.  I decided to post a scan just of my three favorites from the lot.  I'm not sure how many cards I still need from this but the want list has been updated if anyone is interested.
#180 Dion Phaneuf     #122 Marian Gaborik   #137 Daniel Briere
Also included in the lot were 17 cards from the 2011-12 Victory series.  The want list for this set has been updated as well, link on the sidebar for anyone who cares.

#1 Wayne Gretzky   #23 Joe Sakic   #4 Paul Kariya  #10 Steve Yzerman
And he also sent over 32 cards from one of my all-time favorite sets, the 1997-98 Donruss Studio collection.  I've only recently picked up on attempting to complete this product so the 32 cards really help me out here.

Thanks again for the cards Barrett, I really enjoyed them and I hope you liked my half of the deal just as much.  Check out his blog.
