2010-11 Pinnacle 10 Pack Break

As the latest release from Panini's Pinnacle brand starts to roll out I find myself breaking packs of the 2010-11 release that I picked up maybe a couple months ago.  Ten packs to be exact, that were stored away for some period of time in one of the boxes on my desk.  I decided that it was finally time to tear into them and see what they held; given that I'm sorta near to closing in on the set (minus those Ice Breaker rookies) these ten packs should help in bringing me even closer.

Pack 1

146 TJ Galiardi
120 Ryan Whitney
188 Ondrej Pavelec
71 Martin Biron

98 Niklas Backstrom
162 Jussi Jokinen
56 Mike Richards

41 Zbynek Michalek
104 Brent Burns

14 Alex Burrows - Considering I went 10/10 in this pack on pulling cards that I need.  Really good.

Pack 2

208 Nino Niedereiter / Ice Breakers.
193 Chris Mason
175 Tim Connolly

118 Shawn Horcoff
189 Nik Antropov
132 Tom Wandell

3 Michal Neuvirth (double)
61 Sergei Gonchar (double)
19 Kris Versteeg (double)
42 Sidney Crosby (double)

Pack 3

2 Ondrej Pavelec / Saving Face - Could have done better player wise.  Not really liking the effects on these either.

25 Simon Gagne
67 Alex Kovalev

51 Paul Bissonnette (double)
9 Roberto Luongo (double)
124 Ales Hemsky (double)
181 Shawn Thornton (double)
195 Saku Koivu (double)
153 Patrick Sharp (double)
138 Adam Burish (double)

Pack 4

40 Antero Niittymaki
166 Rene Bourque
2 Mike Green
150 John Michael Liles

97 Andrei Kostitsyn
83 Ilya Kovalchuk
108 Jack Johnson
55 Sean O'Donnell
192 Dustin Byfuglien

169 Mikka Kiprusoff (double)

Pack 5

27 Dan Ellis / Artist Proof - Apparently these 'Artist Proof' cards fall 1: per box.  I've picked up a blaster of these before and didn't have any luck at pulling an 'Artist Proof' card, go figure.

30 David Perron
87 Patric Hornqvist

73 Henrik Lundqvist (double)
45 Jordan Staal (double)
106 Ryan Smyth (double)
164 Cam Ward (double)
122 Kurtis Foster (double)
179 Derek Roy (double)
136 James Neal (double)

Pack 6

103 Andrew Brunette
161 Tim Gleason
187 Tobias Enstrom
130 Jimmy Howard
26 Martin St Louis
68 Sean Avery
10 Mason Raymond
145 Antoine Vermette

83 Ilya Kovalchuk (double)
40 Antero Niittymaki (double)

Pack 7

173 Tyler Myers - One of my favorite base cards that I pulled from the packs, great action shot.

116 David Booth
43 Max Talbot
85 Shea Weber
28 T.J. Oshie

177 Ryan Miller - Another nice looking photo, something I have to give this Pinnacle set credit for.

1 Nicklas Backstrom - A terrible looking card to start the set with in my opinion.

200 Bobby Ryan - And a very nice looking card to end it with.

158 Duncan Keith
115 Keaton Ellerby / Rink Collection.

Pack 8

111 Anze Kopitar
134 Kari Lehtonen
191 Evander Kane

153 Patrick Sharp (double)
195 Saku Koivu (double)
78 Dwayne Roloson (double)
21 Dion Phaneuf (double)
63 Nick Foligno (double)
5 David Steckel (double)
47 Vernon Fiddler (double)

Pack 9

16 Michal Neuvirth / Saving Face - I'm not very familiar with Neuvirth; I don't know if I could have done any worse in this insert set.

155 Niklas Hjalmarsson
84 Steve Sullivan

56 Mike Richards (double)
98 Niklas Backstrom (double)
41 Zbynek Michalek (double)
197 Lubomir Visnovsky (double)
140 Rick Nash (double)
113 Steve Bernier (double)
170 Jay Bouwmeester (double)

Pack 10

WP Willi Plett / Tough Times - Disappointed to pull the unsigned version of this Tough Times card, Willi Plett won the Calder in 1977 scoring 56 pts in 64 games with the Flames.  After he was dealt to the North Stars in 1981 Willi's role changed from goal scorer to enforcer.

18 Nikolai Kulemin

89 Joel Ward (double)
32 Cam Janssen (double)
75 Kyle Okposo (double)
173 Tylers Myer (double)
116 David Booth (double)
200 Bobby Ryan (double)
158 Duncan Keith (double)
177 Ryan Miller (double)

And there you have it, 10 packs that didn't yield much other than getting myself 51 cards closer to the complete set.

  1. Nice, you did pretty well in terms of pulling a lot of base that you needed. 51 needed cards out of 10 packs id not too shabby.

  2. Pinnacle is a nice set. The pics on the from are good and the info on the back is interesting. It's the only set of the last several years that I read the back of every card.
